INTEGRATED LOCOMOTIVE HVAC

Over the last 8 years, we have been involved in the design and manufacture of retro fit heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for rail locomotives.

We have worked with Freightliner to develop a unique integrated solution for their class 66 EMD locomotives - fully backed by industry regulation and certification.

 

The design essentially offers heating in winter and cooling in summer for the locomotive cabs. Previously, locomotive drivers in these non air conditioned locomotives, of which there are many still in service, were subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations. Previously, no such product existed as the space available was constrained and in this particular case, it required a bespoke design to fit the customers voltage specification.
